We are a University of Virginia Jefferson Public Citizens team that worked with Market Central, other community members, and UVA faculty to collaboratively determine what information would be valuable as Charlottesville contemplates the future of the City Market. As the permanent home discussion began last fall, the absence of reliable data became evident. There were plenty of guesses, but no real answers to the following questions: Who comes to this Market? What do they love about it? What would make them love it even more?
